Bringing back the doll in you!
PriscillaDawn is inspired by a deep appreciation of history, a love of travel and unabashed femininity. We believe everything has a second life, endlessly sourcing vintage treasures to create beautiful pieces we hope will live in the closets of generations to come. We have always been thoughtful about the way we approach what we do from our design process, to the partners we work with and materials we use. Committed to a continued investment in improving our impact both environmentally and socially, we wanted to start by sharing the progress we have made as well as the initiatives we are working on as we strive to make our impact a positive one.
ENVIRONMENT
We are all too aware of the impact fashion has on the planet from water usage to waste and while we are only a small brand, it is the small changes that we continually make that add up to a bigger difference. We are far from perfect, but continually evolving and deeply committed to doing our best. Here are a few of our current programs:
RECYCLED FABRIC
Since day one, we committed to never wasting our beautiful fabrics. We save our scraps and reuse them wherever possible by incorporating them as trims or design elements to limited edition future styles like bags and bracelets.
PACKAGING
Biodegradable polybags are used to ship the majority of our products, and we are actively looking to make this commitment across all products in 2020. Additionally, the majority of our boxes and tapes are made from recycled materials.
COLLATERAL
All our materials are printed on recycled paper.
ORGANIC FABRIC
This year we are focused on working with our partners to use vegetable dyes or dyes from natural waste, and organic fabrics.
ETHICAL CONDUCT
We make clothes for women to feel beautiful in and part of that means knowing that the garments were made in an ethical and socially responsible way. To that end, we only work with partners who abide by our Code of Conduct regarding ethical practices, health and safety standards, fair wage and workers rights. All of our factories are not only compliant but agree to periodic monitoring and audits related to our mutual commitment.
Additionally, it is important to us that our partners are mindful of how they operate. Therefore we look for partners that give back to their local communities, actively reduce their carbon footprint, plus support women’s career and educational opportunities. For example, one of our partner's in India is primarily female-owned and has started a foundation to fund the education of the daughters of their employees. Another partner supports remote working for women who possess specialized technical skills but aren’t able to travel for social, familial, or religious reasons
CRAFTSMANSHIP
Every collection is grounded with an attention to detail that echoes our love of bespoke techniques, vintage reimagined, and beautiful finishings has become known for matching hand-painted colorful floral prints, ornate hand-embroidered fabrics, intricate handmade crochet and lace, plus elaborate trims.
Our beloved pieces are sourced or handmade with an emphasis on artisanal and handcrafted processes meant to be passed from generation to generation.
GOOD THINGS TAKE TIME
We take pride in knowing that good design and small-scale handmade production take time, resulting in lasting pieces that get better with wear.
HANDWORK
We engage skilled artisans based on their unique capabilities, creating job opportunities for lost-art traditions. Craftsmanship such as elaborate jacquards created on handlooms and antique hand-sewn sequined gowns, which require hundreds of hours to make. We work with artists to create our signature hand brushed prints. We utilize old-world hand blocking traditions, plus ombre and garment-dipped techniques using Batik or Shibori dyes.
CUSTOM FABRICS AND TRIMS
Our custom fabric developments, inspired by roses gardens and cupocakes reimagined, include buttery distressed mesh with lace embroidered floral appliqués, hand-rolled flower details, and our Battenburg lace. Plus, we create custom dresses, delicate laces, novelty trims, yarn-dyed florals, and stripes.
COMMUNITY
As a woman founded and lead organization we are passionate about empowering the women (and men) we work with and dress.
We love our community and know without you we wouldn’t be here. We are always listening to the ways you encourage us to be more mindful and inclusive in our representation and putting this to practice is a big focus of ours in 2024 and beyond.
We also wouldn’t be here without our team and fostering their growth and development is also hugely important to us. This is why we support ongoing training and development opportunities for employees at every level to grow and develop beyond their current skill set.

We are committed to giving back to women around the world. We are about empowerment through education. Donate to our education project Millenials Mansions. A platform that inspires royalty and a higher way of education.
